Karen Mazzarella is a native of High Point, North Carolina. She started painting at the age of 15 and had already won numerous local and regional awards in art by the time she graduated high school. At 18, she joined the Army as a linguist and in Germany she met the love of her life in the form of an Air Force Sergeant. Married at 22, she traveled all over the US with her husband, raised their daughter, and completed her BS in Sociology from Excelsior College, NY. Throughout her adult life, she has continued painting and drawing and has had works displayed in various galleries in California, North Carolina, Minnesota, Virginia and Missouri. Her paintings and prints are collected in states throughout the country.

Karen and her husband, Chuck, currently live in Alexandria, Virginia.
